Mark raised and flat artwork zones separately
Label the elements proposed for puff treatment and those intended to remain flat. Keep actual dimensions and the essential open spaces visible in the drawing. Ask the digitiser to identify details that need adapting for the selected construction.
For example, a large initial and a small date may need separate interpretations. Keep the brand master unchanged and approve any production adaptation as a named version. A three-dimensional rendering can explore the effect without proving stitch coverage or the finished edge.
Prepare the trial for the proposed foam route

Record those inputs with the sample. Avoid copying another design’s density or machine values into an unrelated order as a universal recipe. The trial must resolve the proposed shapes and construction, including the boundaries between raised and flatter elements.
Review the perimeter and remaining detail
Inspect the front and side views for thread coverage, visible foam, irregular ends and unwanted gaps. Look at narrow areas and joins where a digital drawing can hide the physical transition. Ask for corrections linked to the affected zone rather than a general request for more height.
Check the completed crown for distortion, local bulk and placement balance. Review the reverse and overall feel. An attractive raised initial still needs to work with the cap worn, the visor and any other decoration.

Keep the approved combination reproducible
Use the raised sample comparison checklist if alternative effects are still under consideration. Release one identifiable construction and retain the accepted complete cap with its artwork, foam and thread references.
For reorders, identify changes in cap fabric, support, logo dimensions or materials before extending earlier approval. Keep any relevant care or use evidence with the complete product record. A visible raised effect alone does not establish every requested durability claim.
