A golf cap inspection is easier to discuss when each check refers to an agreed sample, drawing or requirement. “Good quality” does not explain whether the crown, logo, fit or carton contents were reviewed. A useful record identifies the product version, what was examined and the result.

Identify the reference before examining the cap
Record the style, colour, size and artwork version. Bring together the current specification, approved sample reference and packing instructions. Resolve any conflict between them before making a pass-or-fail decision.
Agree the measuring method and tolerances for dimensions that matter. Identify how a fitted cap is measured and how an adjustable cap is set for the check. Repeating a measurement consistently matters more than attaching a precise number to an undefined measuring point.
Review crown and visor alignment together
Look at front, side, rear and top views. Compare panel balance, front support, seam positions and visible puckering with the agreed reference. Check how the crown sits rather than judging only a flattened cap on a table.
Review the visor centre line, projection, curve, edge and topstitching. Look for differences between left and right sides. Where the reference specifies an underbrim, sandwich detail or contrast edge, check its colour and placement as a separate feature.
Include the interior and moving parts
Check the sweatband, seam tape, label edges and interior finish. Inspect attachment points and look for loose threads, exposed rough edges or visible contamination. Identify an issue by location and photograph it beside the reference where useful.
Operate the closure through the agreed settings and review strap retention, hardware and rear-opening shape. A visual check alone does not establish closure durability. If repeated-use testing is required, define its method and acceptance criteria separately.
Make branding checks specific
Match the artwork version, dimensions, position and approved colour references. Review small lettering, the effect of a front seam and the finished outline. Check any side sponsor or rear mark against its own placement instruction.
Keep appearance approval separate from performance claims. A clean logo, ventilated panel or soft sweatband does not prove moisture management, UV protection or a quantified comfort result. Ask for the agreed evidence when the product or packaging carries a testable claim.
Agree what the inspection covers
Define the lot, quantities and variants represented in the review. If acceptance sampling is part of the agreement, specify the applicable standard, edition, plan and decision rules with the responsible parties. Do not choose a sample size from a generic web checklist.

Reconcile the packed goods
Check product identity and quantity against the approved breakdown. Review label and barcode data where applicable, carton marks, destination allocation and any mixed-carton arrangement. The right number of caps does not resolve a wrong size or sponsor version.
Inspect how the accepted crown, visor and decoration look after the agreed packing method. Record the carton and packing reference, the observation and any corrective action. Keep the outcome with the lot record so the inspection can be understood later.
