Show where the cap should sit
Provide front and side views that communicate the intended wearing position. Mark what you want to retain from a reference and what should change. A cap tilted for a fashion photograph can give a different impression from the same cap in a normal fit review.
Agree the wearer or display reference used for comparison. Record the closure setting where it affects the result. The second sample should be reviewed in a comparable setup rather than judged against a differently arranged first photograph.
Distinguish head measurements from cap measurements

Check the relevant adjustment settings
Define the fit range required for the project and how it will be reviewed. At the agreed settings, look at the rear opening, strap handling, inside band and overall crown position. Note any point that needs another review rather than approving the cap only at its most convenient setting.
Identify separate adult, youth or other versions where required. A different wearer group may need its own pattern and sample decision. Keep that scope explicit instead of treating every proposed size as a simple extension of the first cap.
Include material and inside components in the fit record
Record the fabric, support, lining, sweatband and relevant finishing state on the approved sample. A silhouette review in a temporary material may leave fit and appearance questions open for the final combination.
