A private-label cap preproduction review connects the accepted design with the files and components needed to make the order. It is the point to expose a temporary label, an unresolved sample comment or an item quantity that changed after the quotation. The review record should show what is ready and what still needs a decision.
Use the private-label supplier proposal checklist to understand the commercial scope first. This review then checks whether the selected cap, branding and packing combination has a clear basis for production release.
Put the controlling references in one review set
Identify the accepted sample, product specification, item matrix and artwork revisions. Include the material and trim references that the sample represents. A photo of an approved cap should have an identity that connects it to those records.
List remaining exceptions separately. If the sample uses a temporary closure or label, record what must replace it and who accepts the final component. Avoid treating a general approval message as evidence that every provisional detail has been resolved.
Check the actual branded selling unit
Review the shell, decoration, inside labels, hangtag and any required sticker as a complete combination. Match the product information and artwork to the correct item. Confirm the relationship between shared components and colourway-specific differences.
Include the proposed individual pack and representative carton plan where applicable. Check that the accepted presentation can be connected to the packing instructions and the buyer’s receiving requirements.
Agree the inspection reference and records
Identify the measurements, method, workmanship criteria and component checks that apply. Define how findings are recorded and who reviews an issue. Keep relevant sample conditions and measuring points visible in the instruction.
If acceptance sampling is specified, its agreed plan should accompany the inspection scope. ISO 2859-1 provides an acceptance-sampling framework by attributes. The buyer and supplier still need identifiable product criteria and decision responsibilities for their order.

Make the release decision readable
Close each open action against the evidence or revised file that resolves it. Identify the final release set and retain the confirmation. If work is approved in stages, say which stage and items the decision covers.
