Identify the mesh in a repeatable way
Retain the actual material reference and declared composition. Record the relevant fabric construction, opening appearance, yarn character, mass and finish information supplied for the proposal. A close image with a scale reference can help show an opening, while the physical material reveals additional handling differences.
Keep the colour reference separate from the open area’s background. If matching mesh to a solid front matters, use the front, mesh and trim colour review rather than assuming that one colour name settles the assembled combination.
Review stability where the fabric is used
Check how the proposed mesh behaves at the cap’s side, rear opening and panel joins. Review its edge treatment, seam attachment and relationship with the sweatband or closure. Identify any support or backing that changes the final layer arrangement.
Inspect the complete cap for uneven joins, unexpected stretching or a rear profile that differs from the accepted reference. These are assembled-construction observations; keep them tied to the actual sample and material revision.
Define a measurable airflow question when needed
ASTM D737 covers air-permeability measurement of textile fabrics and applies to a broad range of fabric constructions. If this property is required, agree the appropriate test scope, conditions, units and acceptance basis with the responsible technical party.
A fabric result should identify the tested material and configuration. It does not by itself establish the ventilation or comfort of every complete cap using that fabric. Keep the finished design and any additional product-level requirement explicit.
